Hello NGCP Champions Board members! I have so many updates for you, I can't fit them all in one e-mail! So please excuse the several e-mails you will be receiving from me over the few days.
NGCP Tenth Anniversary: If you have not yet seen the September 2012 NGCP e-newsletter, announcing the week-long Tenth Anniversary celebration next week, I have linked it here.http://archive.constantcontact.com/fs004/1101376239733/archive/1110811532036.html Please join us as we celebrate collaboration by highlighting exemplary practices, programs and resources. We are celebrating every day next week, September 17-22, with daily special editions of the NGCP e-newsletter, online video chats, social media like-a-thons, and more! The e-mail below was distributed earlier today to the NGCP Collaborative Leadership teams across the United States. There will be webinars and at least one online chat and the rest of the work will be primarily social media. Spread the power of collaboration by liking and sharing NGCP on your own Facebook pages and twitter accounts as you see these occur next week. On Wednesday we will be celebrating our National Champions Board - that's you! Throughout the day we will be celebrating and highlighting your organizations. If you have something specific you would like us to promote, please send it along.
New NGCP Website: We have implemented a new NGCP website which allows our Collaborative teams to manage their own sites, mini-grants, and events. This website is a culmination of more than 18 months of work. Special thanks to Amy Foster who managed the project to successful completion. A public website tour will be offered later in the Fall. If you have questions or would like your own private tour, please let me know.
Strategic Planning: I would like to reboot the discussions around strategic planning we have had at the last two in person Champions Board meetings. If you are interested in contributing to conversations around the sustainability of NGCP, please let me know.
April 2012 Collaboration Conference: We have wonderful evaluation results from our Collaboration Conference. Many presentations have been added to the Conference websitehttp://www.ngcproject.org/collabconf2012. I will include you on the follow-up e-mail we are sending to attendees as part of our Anniversary communications next week. Kathy Thomas put together a few short slide shows from the April events. Here are some quotes:
I learned more and made more connections at this conference than I have in any conference in recent years. It was fantastic!
The overall quality of the presentations and material was amazing. It was truly "leadership quality" and for a change, I absorbed more than I gave away...usually I'm sharing more than learning/gaining.
Thank you for everything you do on behalf of NGCP. Please join our celebration next week. We would not be celebrating 10 years of collaboration without you!
Karen

Subject: [Ngcplteams] Celebrating the NGCP 10th Anniversary
As you can see from the NGCP September e-news, we have distributed the public announcement of our Anniversary Celebration occurring next week. Please help us celebrate 10 years of collaboration! Along with celebrating, this is an opportunity to increase awareness about the work you are doing and the need to increase STEM opportunities for all groups currently underrepresented in STEM.
Here are ways you can be involved.
Beginning Monday -
Use the hash tag #celebrateNGCP when you post about your events, about collaboration opportunities, or to wish NGCP Happy Anniversary.
Distribute your own Collaborative e-newsletter announcing these activities and highlighting your local work.
Set a goal for increasing the Program Directory entries in your state and distribute the Program Directory recruitment e-mail widely.
Attached is suggested social media messaging.
Promote the special webinar scheduled for next Wednesday.
Use the NGCP 10th Anniversary logo - located about halfway down the page here: http://www.edlabgroup.org/graphic_style_guide.html
Highlight the new NGCP publications, the new website with your Collaborative page, or a role model in your area.
Here is the schedule for next week. There may be additional events occurring during the week not on this list, but this is the majority of what we know about now. We will put this on a web page by Friday so you don't have to navigate through these documents.
A special edition NGCP e-newsletter will be distributed each day at 6:00am Eastern, following these themes and previewing the events for the next day. We will be using social media extensively throughout the week. Please share, like, and repost as much as possible.
Monday: Highlighting girl-serving STEM programs throughout the network. Please highlight programs in your Collaborative network via Facebook and Twitter.
Tuesday: Role Model Day! Focus on Techbridge and FabFems. See attached schedule.
Wednesday: Collaboration Strategies and Successes. Webinar. Highlighting National Champions Board members and their organizations. We will also do some funding asks on this day for mini-grants. Announcements of several new partnerships.
Thursday: SciGirls! Three webinars listed in the NGCP newsletter.
Friday: Collaboratives. See attached schedule. Ann will help during your time slot. If you aren't available to post on Facebook or Twitter about your collaborative, you can send information to Ann and she will push it out.
Saturday: Expanding Your Horizons. Tennessee is hosting their annual EYH conference and will sending out updates. If you have an EYH conference in your area, please highlight it.
Let me know if you have questions or need more information. Thank you for helping to create a Collaboration Nation.
