[This email describes an opportunity for young women to contribute to the IF/THEN initiative, if you are not between the ages of 10 and 18 but have a young woman in your life who might be interested, please forward!] Calling All Young Women! IF/THEN is asking young women ages 10-18 to join the IF/THEN initiative as members of our Girls Advisory Council! As a member, you'll be helping us and the American Association for the Advancement of Science pick the women in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) who will serve as IF/THEN Ambassadors, helping spread the word about science careers to young women just like you! You'll also have the opportunity to review and provide your opinions on other content, including YouTube and TV shows in development focused on careers in STEM, profiles of our IF/THEN Ambassadors and more. Interested? Here's what it takes: 1. If you're between the ages of 10-17, please read the application and agreement form carefully with your parent. When you've both signed it, send it back to us at IfThenGirlsCouncil@lhholdings.net<mailto:IfThenGirlsCouncil@lhholdings.net>. If you're 18, you need only fill out the application, sign it and return it to us at the email address above. 2. If your application is accepted by or before June 12th, then on June 14 we'll send you an email with a link to 5-10 short videos from women working in science careers who want to be IF/THEN Ambassadors. They may include doctors, engineers, chemists, sports scientists, mathematicians, astronomers and more. We'll ask you to watch at least the first 5 minutes of each video, then answer a few short survey questions about each video. 3. You must view all the videos and answer the survey questions by June 17 (we think the whole project will take about 1-2 hours). 4. The information in the videos must be kept confidential (but of course, you can share it with your parents). 5. On August 16, we may send you a new set of videos, with responses to your survey questions due on August 19th. We look forward to receiving your application.
