Dear valued partners,
In recognition of the deep pain our communities are experiencing around the country, we are sharing the below message with this network. We are thinking of you all and the children, families, and educators we serve. Diverse and underrepresented communities are at the heart of Leap into Science, and we commit to elevating voices of Black Americans and people of color in achieving our goals of STEM equity in the U.S.
Black lives matter. The Leap into Science program team, The Franklin Institute, and NGCP stand in solidarity with the Black community. We will be diligent in actively listening to, learning from, and supporting each other in action against racism. We are committed to making this moment a turning point for positive change. Let the actions of all of us working for a more just society further demonstrate that Black lives matter.
We will continue to amplify our focus on lifting up the programs and resources to help dismantle systemic racism. Watch for more information sent by the National Girls Collaborative Project distributing anti-racism resources that you can use personally and with the programs you serve.
We strive to constantly improve ourselves, our organizations, and our programs to be anti-racist, and acknowledge this as a time of listening, learning, and action.
Best,
The Leap into Science program team
