This is just a friendly reminder that applications are due on Tuesday, May 19th, 2015. Because the first part of this planning grant will involve Master Trainers providing feedback on the Master Training Workshop to be held in July, there will be a quick turnaround time to select trainers and launch the project. Nimisha We have an exciting Network Project opportunity for you and your Collaborative! Please review the attached materials (RFA and Introduction Guide) and the information below. Applications are due on Tuesday, May 19th, 2015. InventionX is an educator training program and student challenge to engage middle and high school students in STEM content. InventionX provides educators a 5-step framework upon which they can engage their students in any STEM-themed subject matter through an innovative problem-solving program. In your application you will identify a Master Trainer (a Collaborative Lead, Co-Lead, Leadership Team or Champions Board member) who will: - Participate in the planning and development of the first national InventionX challenge and Trainer Workshop, - Attend the InventionX Trainer Workshop this summer where they will be taught the details of how to engage educators in the InventionX Challenge, and - Lead educators throughout their Collaborative to support their participation in the InventionX Challenge. This network project is currently funded by a planning grant from the Lemelson Foundation and include funds for travel to the summer Trainer Workshop. Your participation in this project will help open up new opportunities by informing the submission of an implementation grant to the Lemelson Foundation which, if received, will allow us to provide additional funds to Collaboratives to support educator workshops and other activities.
