Happy National Mentoring Month to our NGCP Champions!

Million Women Mentors:  I'm in DC today to participate in the launch of Million Women Mentors.  It was an event full of passion and vision - the day we launched a movement.  You can visit the website, www.millionwomenmentors.orghttp://www.millionwomenmentors.org, now - more content to come as this is developed in phases with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). This first phase is a nationwide call to action to capture and pledge commitments from individuals, organizations and companies that have an interest in mentoring. Please visit the website and demonstrate the power of our collaboration community!

FabFems:  As you may have seen, we are doing a social media push all month long to promote FabFems and National Mentoring Month.  Follow along via the NGCP and FabFems Facebook pages and Twitter accounts as we celebrate a FabFem of the day as well as highlight resources on mentoring and role models.  Also, help spread the word about FabFems by posting to your own networks.  Here are some ways to do so:

  • Like the FabFems Facebook Page<https://www.facebook.com/FabFems> and following us on Twitter @FabFems<https://twitter.com/FabFems> (and you while you are at it, be sure you like NGCP and follow us @ngcproject)

  • Share the FabFem of the Day posts with your network by liking, sharing, and retweeting the daily posts (for the month of January)

  • Use the hash tag #FabFems when you post about the FabFems Project in Twitter

  • Participate in the webinar<http://www.ngcproject.org/ignite-girls%E2%80%99-interest-stem-through-role-models-stories-strategies-ngcp%E2%80%99s-fabfems-project> tomorrow: Ignite Girls' Interest in STEM through Role Models: Stories & Strategies from the NGCP's FabFems Project.

During National Mentoring Month, we celebrate the contributions of all those who cultivate a supportive environment for the next generation, and we recommit to expanding mentorship opportunities across our networks.

Special thanks to all of you who are serving as role models and mentors - as NGCP National Champions Board members, you are mentoring thousands of programs and millions of girls by assisting us with implementation challenges and championing our work.

Happy New Year!

Karen
