Hello Collaborative Leads and Co-Leads,
We are excited to announce Phase 2 of our partnership with the California Academy of Science on Science Action Club. During Phase 1 of our partnership, we reached over 400 educators at 330 club and over 4800 youth. Our goal for Phase 2 is to bring environmental and citizen science professional development and curriculum resources to even more youth development educators and organizations throughout the NGCP network.
This invitation is for Collaboratives and Trainers who did not participate in Phase 1. We have already distributed a different message for Phase 1 participants.
On May 31, 2017, we hosted the Science Action Club: Building STEM Identities through Citizen Science Webinarhttp://connectpro35337274.adobeconnect.com/pdgk2mwmohp1. Please watch this webinar and learn more about the impact and activities of Phase 1.
Below you will find more information on how you can be involved in Science Action Club Phase 2.
Trainers from NGCP Collaboratives will be selected to take part in Science Action Club Training of Trainers in 2017-2018. Please see the timeline below.
In your application, you will identify a Trainer (a Collaborative Lead, Co-Lead, Leadership Team, or Champions Board member) who will receive:
- Travel and lodging to attend Training of Trainers workshop(s) to explore the BIRDS, BUGS, and CLOUDS modules in San Francisco, CA;
- An $800 stipend for completing the deliverables of the Network Project Agreement;
- Curricula and supporting materials for each Educator Workshop and participants (valued at over $500);
- Opportunities to participate in future Citizen Science Collaborative projects.
Each Collaborative must conduct at least 2 full-day workshops with 15-20 educators each so that clubs can run during the 2017-2018 academic year.
