Hi NGCP Collaboratives,
For the upcoming USA Science & Engineering Festival, NGCP is hosting a Girl Zone exhibition area that will feature interactive and hands-on activities and programs that engage girls in STEM!
The USA Science & Engineering Festival is held in DC the weekend of April 26th and is free and open to the public, for more information visit: http://www.usasciencefestival.org/. It's a great opportunity to showcase the STEM programming you have going on in your collaboratives as well as make new connections.
We are looking to maximize our Girl Zone so that attendees walk away feeling inspired and overwhelmed by the number of amazing programs that are encouraging girls to get involved with STEM. We have a few partners, FabFems, SciGirls, and Girlstart, running programming at booths throughout the 2 days and would like to invite you to join us as well. There is 1 booth available for any collaborative interested in running programming for the entire festival as well as 1 booth where we will be hosting rotating programs, for those of you available for joining us for a few hours.
To participate in the Girl Zone and to secure a booth, we are asking programs to help pay some of the costs, a booth for two full days is $500 (50% of the actual cost) or $50 an hour for the rotating booth. NGCP will provide support with logistics as well as securing volunteers.
Additionally, the US STEM Solutions Conference is taking place in DC the days leading up to this event. NGCP will be there and if any of you are interested in attending and wanting to share a booth, let us know.
Please contact me if you have any questions about the Girl Zone and to confirm your participation at the event, you can email me at kate@edlabgroup.orgmailto:kate@edlabgroup.org.
It's going to be quite a full and fun weekend, hope you can join us!
Best,
Kate
