Below are some highlights from the call and some general updates. As always, please reach out if you have any questions.

Updated Reports
As we mentioned on the call, we are replacing the Training Reflection Form with the Training Report and the Workshop Reflection Form with the Workshop Report. As described in the State Leader Handbook, each report is defined as follows:

Facebook Group

As a reminder, we have created a Leap into Science Educator Facebookhttps://www.facebook.com/groups/leapintoscience/ group. This closed group is a space for Leap into Science educators, staff, and partners to collaborate across our national network.

We invite all SLTs and educators to engage with this group in the following ways:

  • share a success from your Leap into Science training or workshop
  • ask a question or for advice from other educators
  • share photos or short videos of your Leap into Science programming

Please invite all Leap into Science trained educators to join our Facebook community prior to National Leap into Science Week (February 25 – March 3, 2019), so we can encourage our national network to share their experiences throughout the week.

As a reminder, National Leap Week will be February 25, 2019– March 3, 2019. Year Two State Leadership Team Dissemination Plans
Thanks to those of you who have already send your plans to me today. If you haven’t already done so, please send your finalized Report and Dissemination Plans to Casi at cherrera@ngcproject.orgmailto:cherrera@ngcproject.org by the end of the day.

Kit Ordering
In the attached State Leader Handbook, you will find the Kit Ordering Guide. Please review carefully.

State Leadership Teams:

  • should order in batches of 10 or more kits and have them delivered to their training location.
  • MUST order kits at least four (4) weeks PRIOR to the date they would like their kits to arrive.
  • MUST complete a separate Kit Order Form for each shipment.

Next Community Meeting and Webinar Schedule
Our next Community Meeting is scheduled for March 20, 2019 at 11AM Pacific | 2PM Eastern. You will find the connection details below and in the meeting request. See below for your assignment and connection details.

We will continue our webinar schedule throughout 2019-2020. I have sent calendar invitations for each meeting and am including the schedule below.

  • Attendance. All state leaders must attend each Community Meeting.
  • Microphone. Every call will require an online microphone connection. Please have a working microphone and test with the Adobe system at the beginning of each call. If you do not have a microphone, please contact Casi Herreramailto:cherrera@ngcproject.org (cherrera@ngcproject.orgmailto:cherrera@ngcproject.org).
  • Reporting. Some calls will require state leadership teams to report on specific topics or activities. We will provide advance notice. Please come prepared with these materials.
  • Follow-up. The Franklin Institute and National Girls Collaborative Project will address all questions promptly, and state leadership teams are expected to do the same.
