Hello Leap into Science State Leadership Teams,
Below are a couple updates and reminders. Please reach out if you have any questions.
Wind Curriculum - Spanish Curriculum
We have added the Spanish translation of the Wind Curriculumhttp://leap.fi.edu/curricula. You will need to be logged in to access this link. Thank you for your patience as we completed this task. We will update you as soon as we have other curricula translated.
Site Visit – Observation Form
As Tara mentioned on the last Community Meeting, we have created a Workshop Observation Form. Please feel free to download, modify, and use this form when you make a Workshop site visit. It is an expectation that each SLT complete two site visits/program year. You are encouraged, but NOT required to use the Workshop Observation Form. We would love to hear about your observations on a future Community Meeting. You can find this on the State Leadershttp://leap.fi.edu/state-leaders tab on the Leap into Science website.
Wind Kits – Missing Pinwheels
As many of you are aware, the wind material kits are missing pinwheels. We apologize for this oversight and want to share a few alternative options that can be used. If you would like to make your own pinwheel, here is a guidehttp://www.leslietryon.com/3dcolorcutout/makepinw/makepinwheel.html (thanks Barbie!) and a pinwheel templatehttps://www-tc.pbs.org/parents/curiousgeorge/activities/pdf/cc_pinwheel_bw.pdf. You can also create a sample wind detector from the materials included in the kit and use this in place of the pinwheel. We know that time is often a barrier, therefore you can also purchase inexpensive pinwheels such as these from Oriental Tradinghttps://www.orientaltrading.com/toys-games-and-novelties/novelty-toys/pinwheels-a1-550216-1.fltr.
