Hello National Champions Board members! I hope you are FINALLY enjoying Spring in your local area.
I'm working on a very full update e-mail for you. We had a fabulous Collaboration Institute last week in Kansas City, presented at NSTA, and various other conferences - many opportunities for Collaboration!
Please mark your calendars for the webinar listed below. Many of our Collaboratives are struggling to engage their local Champions Boards, so we are hosting this webinar in May to assist them. It would be wonderful to have representation from our National Champions Board. Please register at the link below. This will be an interactive webinar and we will also be asking for examples of ways you have in the past and currently support our efforts.
More to come soon.
Karen

Introduction to NGCP and the Role and Impact of Collaborative Champions Board Members
May 13, 2014; 11:00 AM-12:30 PM Pacific/2:00-3:30 PM Eastern
We invite Collaborative Leadership Teams and potential Collaborative Champions Board members to join us for an introductory webinar about the National Girls Collaborative Project model, components, and history. Learn how we strengthen the capacity of girl-serving STEM projects and how you can help in your local area. Evaluation & Research Associates, the evaluators of NGCP, will also share highlights from their findings on the effectiveness of the NGCP model and the impact of our collaborative model on girl serving programs nationwide.
Background:
The vision of the National Girls Collaborative Project is to bring together organizations throughout the United States that are committed to informing and encouraging girls to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). To date, 31 Collaboratives, serving 39 states, have been established as a part of the NGCP, facilitating collaboration between more than 12,800 organizations and indirectly serving more than 8.2 million girls and 4.7 million boys.
The structure of NGCP Collaboratives consists of three groups: a Convening Organization, Collaborative Leadership Team, and Collaborative Champions Board. The Convening Organization works with the Leadership Team to carry out the activities of the Collaborative. The Leadership Team includes members of organizations that are also invested in encouraging girls in STEM and are able to contribute to the project's success. The role of the Champions Board is to champion the project in each Board member's own realm, to disseminate project information and goals, and to inform the Leadership Team of strategic connections, linkages, and opportunities for the project.
