Leap into Science - National Leadership Institute and Minigrants

Hello Leap into Science State Leadership Teams,

National Leadership Institute – Light and Shadow Curriculum Training of Trainers
It has come to our attention that some of you would like to attend the Leap into Science National Leadership Institute (NLI) on March 29-31, 2020 at The Franklin Institutehttps://www.fi.edu/ in Philadelphia, PA for in person training on the Light and Shadow curriculum. We invite all existing SLT members to attend NLI. If you would like to send an additional person (not on the original SLT), please check in with Casi Herrera at cherrera@ngcproject.orgmailto:cherrera@ngcproject.org before registering. We will need to gather additional information from this person, prior to confirming registration.

In order to confirm your participation and hotel reservation, please complete the below items by January 6, 2020. If you need more time, we can extend the deadline for Conference ONLY registration to January 31, 2020.

  • We recommend you arrive in Philadelphia on Saturday, March 28 as the NLI will begin at 9:30am Eastern on Sunday, March 29. On Saturday, March 28 you will be welcome to visit The Franklin Institutehttps://www.fi.edu/ anytime from 9:00am - 5:00pm Eastern. Please let us know if you think you might want to explore the museum on Saturday so we can have complimentary tickets available for you at will call. Additionally, Saturday evening we will host an optional pre-conference happy hour from 5:30pm - 7:30pm Eastern.

Mini-Grant Applications Due December 10, 2019
As a reminder, mini-grant applications are due December 10, 2019. Please help us spread the word among educators in the Leap into Science network in your state. Below is a blurb you can use when reaching out to your educators. You can also use the Leap into Science Facebook Post to help spread the word.

New Mini-Grant Opportunity – Due December 10, 2019
Trained educators are invited to submit applications for National Leap into Science Week mini-grants in the amount of $500, to host innovative science and literacy programming for children and/or families living in underserved rural or urban communities in partnership with other organizations in their community during National Leap into Science Week (February 24 - March 1, 2020).
