NGCP is now recruiting informal STEM education programs to apply to Brite 2021. We are prioritizing programs serving girls from underrepresented groups, including Black, Latinx, Native American, Indigenous, and youth in rural communities.

Brite 2021 is a two-week, online, interdisciplinary STEM program for girls ages 13-16. Brite will be held July 12-22, 2021, Monday-Thursday for approximately 3 hours of programming each day and will provide a high-quality suite of activities centered on collaborative learning with female role models.

Brite will feature two courses: Art x Science and Dream Big, Take Risks. Each day will include hands-on, authentic learning experiences, centering upon problem-solving, creativity, and real-world application, as well as a 60-minute webinar featuring a female role model and a robust Q&A. The week will culminate with BriteFest; a 90-minute celebratory event hosted by a female role model. A customized online platform, accessed through a 1:1 device, will serve as a launching pad for girls to participate in individual, small group, and community-wide activities.

Application Process

See the attached RFA or visit the Brite 2021https://ngcproject.org/brite2021 web page for more information. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me, klucas@ngcproject.orgmailto:klucas@ngcproject.org with any questions.

Have a great day!

Hello Kata!

I hope all is well! I am working on the Brite application. For Total youth
served, are you looking for youth served during the year 2020?

Thank you for this question, Sherika. Just so everyone on the list knows:

Total youth served in 2020 would be ideal, however other recent numbers will be fine as well.
