Dear State Leadership Teams,

The Franklin Institute and National Girls Collaborative Project leadership are closely monitoring the developing situation around the COVID-19 Novel Coronavirus. The health and safety of everyone who is part of the Leap into Science network is of paramount importance to us. The Franklin Institute is temporarily closed to the public on Saturday, March 14, 2020, for a minimum of two weeks, and we understand that many of your organizations have been similarly impacted by this situation. The Franklin Institute and NGCP staff are continuing to work and will communicate regularly with updates.

Light & Shadow Trainings

The current guidelineshttps://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/community/large-events/mass-gatherings-ready-for-covid-19.html from the Center for Disease Control recommend canceling or postponing events with over 10 participants from high-risk populations, until further notice. We strongly recommend that you follow these guidelines and we will be flexible with our expectations for when trainings are hosted, in the interest of the health and safety of your communities.

Light & Shadow Train-the-Trainer Webinar

The Leap into Science Light and Shadows Curriculum Traininghttps://ngcproject.org/event/leap-into-science-light-and-shadows-curriculum-training webinar will be happening tomorrow Wednesday, March 18, 2020 from 11:00am – 12:30pm Pacific | 2:00pm – 3:30pm Eastern. However, we are postponing the train-the-trainer portion of the Light & Shadow webinar, so that it is closer to your trainings. It will be hosted on one of the scheduled community calls in the coming months. The slides and curriculum guide will be on our websitehttp://leap.fi.edu/state-leaders for your review by the end of the week.

Thank you all for your flexibility and please continue to let us know your organizational needs.
