Informational Webinar on the NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing
Hello Collaborative Leadership Teams,
The NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computinghttp://aspirationsaward.us1.list-manage.com/track/click?u=3c40d28c637908a2212dd2db4&id=19113795d0&e=0c3cdb0f16 honors young women at the high-school level for their computing-related achievements and interests. Many Collaboratives help host local Aspiration Award ceremonies and have found this to be an effective strategy to expand their network of Leadership Team and Champions Board members. Additionally, some Collaboratives host the award ceremony during lunch or another portion of their Collaboration Conference and received excellent feedback from participants about this added component at their Collaborative events. Participants are inspired by girls’ stories and it serves as a touchstone for their daily work. If you are interested in learning more, an informational webinar is being hosted next week. Award applicants represent a rich source of talent and offer a unique opportunity for NCWIT members to encourage their ambitions.
The Award for Aspirations in Computing Affiliate program is hosted by local teams of NCWIT member organizations and can serve an entire state, a region, or a metro area. Affiliate host organizations receive a complete toolkit for implementing the Aspirations Award and access to the NCWIT online award application system.
Nearly 11,000 young women interested in technology fields have been identified through the Award application process since 2007. Applications have been received from all 50 U.S. states, as well as Puerto Rico and several overseas military schools.
