Can you believe it has been one year since we launched our IF/THEN® Initiative?! See a quick snapshot below of what our Coalition has accomplished over the past 12 months.
But first, two announcements:

This morning, NBC News Learn, the education division of NBC News, and NBC Sports launched “Changing the Games: Women in STEM at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics & Paralympicshttps://ifthenshecan.us19.list-manage.com/track/click?u=e17f6fa9e97431cee870e0f6f&id=c6465a85ce&e=09bcbc75c6,” an original video series showcasing the women Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) professionals behind the Olympic and Paralympic athletes. The series is sponsored by Lyda Hill Philanthropies as part of the IF/THEN®https://ifthenshecan.us19.list-manage.com/track/click?u=e17f6fa9e97431cee870e0f6f&id=4f4cce28d5&e=09bcbc75c6 initiative aimed at inspiring more young women and girls to pursue STEM careers. We are excited that the series release comes during Women’s History Month, and in the same week as the Olympic torch lighting in Greece on March 12th. Check out the press release here. The series will be released on NBC News Learn’s K-12 and Higher Education platforms, which reach millions of students and teachers around the country, and will also be available to the public on NBCNewsLearn.comhttps://ifthenshecan.us19.list-manage.com/track/click?u=e17f6fa9e97431cee870e0f6f&id=372f77556d&e=09bcbc75c6. In other news, please save the date for the unveiling of #IfThenSheCan – The Exhibit, a new monumental exhibit of the most women statues ever assembled in one location, at one time. This first-of-its-kind, life-sized 3D printed statue exhibit of more than 120 AAAS IF/THEN® Ambassadors will be free to the public and will debut at Dallas’ NorthPark Center on Friday, May 1, 2020 from 4-6pm. The exhibit will be on display through October 9, 2020, and will be located in the shopping center’s 1.4-acre CenterPark Garden. #IfThenSheCan – The Exhibit will feature interactive elements and audio and video of each Ambassador’s inspiring personal story. The exhibit is possible because IF/THEN® Ambassadors participated in individual, full-body scans at Dallas’ Perot Museum of Nature and Science in October 2019. Using unique technology called the Twinstant Mobile Full Body 3D Scanner, each woman’s full-length silhouette was 3D printed into a life-sized statue!
What have we – collectively – been up to for the last 12 months to reach middle school girls where they consume content the most? Check out a snapshot of IF/THEN’s progress below. Please let us know if you have any questions or ideas for future synergies.

IF/THEN Coalition Member American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) hosts Family Science Days each February as a way to open the organization’s annual meeting to the public and give scientists attending the meeting an opportunity to witness successful outreach, as local science organizations engage kindergarten through 12th-grade students in their communities. The programming also includes talks and demonstrations from 12 “Meet a Scientist” speakers. This year, AAAS IF/THEN® Ambassadors participated, including bat conservationist Kristen Lear.
