On Thursday, April 18th (today!), STEM and fashion intersect on an episode of Bravo’s Project Runway, thanks to IF/THEN and Lyda Hill Philanthropies. The first-of-its-kind episode is a “video game fashion challenge” where designers will work with female video game developers to unite fashion and technology. Tune in to see host Karlie Kloss challenge contestants to create a powerful video game character and her look. IF/THEN partnered with Magical Elves and Bravo’s Project Runway to ensure STEM was integrated into the script and filming. This type of episode is an atypical way to highlight the intersection of STEM and fashion, and it is part of IF/THEN’s initiative to create a culture shift for women and girls in STEM in unexpected ways. IF/THEN is rooted in a firm belief that there is no better time to highlight positive and successful female role models in order to inspire young girls to pursue STEM careers.
