Hello to everyone!  I hope you are managing to keep the collaborations going as we continue in these strange times.  Here are a number of updates for you.

NEW NGCP STAFF:  We have three new NGCP colleagues on our team.

  • Tara Coxhttps://ngcproject.org/tara-cox, Senior Manager of Programs. Tara comes to us from the Franklin Institute and will be managing a new project NGCP is facilitating for SciStarter and Arizona State University. She will also be continuing her Leap into Science role which she previously supported at the Franklin Institute.

  • As you may know, NGCP built and manages the IF/THEN Collection<ifthencollection.org>.  We have hired Jessica Hayhttps://ngcproject.org/jessica-hay, Marketing and Partnership Manager to focus on increasing the use of the IF/THEN Collection by leading outreach, partnerships, and marketing of the collection. She will soon be offering webinars and reaching out to work with all of you, as needed to find helpful assets in The Collection. Additionally, she will support our ongoing STEM and equity projects with community and educational partners.

  • In partnership with the Million Girl Moonshot, we have hired Raisa Rosadohttps://ngcproject.org/raisa-rosado, as our Social Media Consultant.  Raisa brings experience in Community Engagement, Digital Marketing, and Science Communication to her role.

MARCH IS NATIONAL WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH:  As you know, March is a very busy month for our community.  We will be distributing a list of NGCP activities later on this week, but here is a fun activity to share.

NCCP COLLABORATIVE COMMUNITY MEETINGS:  We will begin our monthly meetings again in April.  I will send a separate email with the schedule and dates in early March.

Thanks for everything you are doing to inspire girls in STEM!

MARCH IS NATIONAL WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH: As you know, March is a very busy month for our community. We will be distributing a list of NGCP activities later on this week, but here is a fun activity to share. * Help PBS's American Portrait celebrate Women's History Month by sharing your story about your life in STEM. PBS American Portrait is a national storytelling project that seeks to define what it really means to be an American today. By inviting audiences across the country to be heard and share their stories through their own words and images by answering open-ended prompts, such as "To me, work means..." or "I was raised to believe..." They are going to kick-off with a story as a call-to-action on Monday, March 1st with a weekly story highlight every week during the month of March and a launch of their full compilation reel-feature collection on Monday, March 22nd. To share your story, go to their website: https://www.pbs.org/americanportrait/ and click on "Share A Story." Be sure to mention the National Girls Collaborative Project as they will be on the lookout for NGCP story submissions. They created a story real for International Day of Women & Girls in STEM earlier this month.
