Thank you for all you have done this month (and always) to celebrate and engage girls in STEM. We are closing out our month with the following resources and information:
Updated State of Girls and Women in STEM: This NGCP resource presents a high-level summary of the most compelling statistics and research on the state of girls and women in STEM, focused on K-12 Education, Higher Education, and the STEM Workforce. We are promoting this on social media. Please share with our networks.

Our NGCP 2020 Annual Report: This Annual Report provides an overview of NGC's deep and wide-reaching impact through our Collaboratives, the Global Girls Collaborative, and our diverse network projects. The report spotlights core activities, including the IF/THEN(r) Initiative, Girls Have No Limits, the Brite Program, and the Million Girls Moonshot as well as our databases, including FabFems, The Connectory, and STARportal. You can view it on our NGCP Publications page: https://ngcproject.org/ngcp-publications-0.
National Afterschool STEM Survey: NGCP is helping to distribute this survey through our partnership with Million Girls Moonshot. In order to show how afterschool and summer programs are helping to inspire and prepare the next generation of innovators by engaging one million more girls in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) learning opportunities, we need a clear landscape of the current field. This understanding will also help our work together to provide the most appropriate resources to the afterschool field to improve the impact we are making with young people across the country. STEM Next has partnered with Public Profit to evaluate the Million Girls Moonshot as a whole and help support our data collection efforts. They are coordinating the distribution and analysis of a national program level STEM survey.
The survey will collect information about programs' engagement with the Moonshot and current practices in informal STEM, including use of transformative practices and efforts to sustain engagement among girls and youth of color. This will enable the Moonshot team to track changes in STEM-related practices in afterschool and summer, along with shifts in programs' engagement with the Moonshot over time. The survey is available for distribution through April 30. From our field testing, the survey takes between 5 - 10 minutes to complete. Everyone who completes the survey will be invited to an exclusive webinar on hands-on engineering activities youth can do at home. Plus, 10 respondents will receive a $100 gift card!
