MARCH IS WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH:  To celebrate, NGCP is planning events around the theme: Women in STEM: Spark a Future. We have online resourceshttps://ngcproject.org/engaging-girls-in-stem to share with your networks.

  •    Webinar - From Research to Practice: An Up-to-Date Look at Gender Equity in STEM<https://ngcproject.org/from-research-to-practice-an-up-to-date-look-at-gender-equity-in-stem>. Join us on March 9 from 12:00 to 1:00 PM PT (3:00 to 4:00 PM ET) to learn about up-to-date research regarding gender equity in STEM and how it impacts girls and women learning and working in STEM. We will also engage in conversation around strategies and resources for continued progress in supporting girls and women in STEM.
    
  •    Twitter Chat - Join NGCP and the Million Girls Moonshot on March 18 at noon PT (3:00 PM ET) for the Women in STEM: Spark a Future Twitter chat<https://twitter.com/ngcproject>, featuring some of the inspirational AAAS IF/THEN ambassadors.   •    Women in STEM: Spark a Future Podcast Playlist - We've partnered again with Podyssey<https://podyssey.fm/> to curate a playlist for Women's History Month 2021<https://podyssey.fm/list/id44242-Women-in-STEM-Spark-a-Future-?utm_campaign=share_web>. We've selected 21 podcast episodes that feature inspirational women in STEM and can be shared with girls and young women. You'll meet a molecular biologist who also makes clothing with colorful cell art, hear a fun interview with the 15-year-old female inventor who was Time's 2020 Kid of the Year, and play a trivia game that highlights dozens of historic STEM contributions by women, and more.
    
  •    FabFems - NGCP runs this international directory of women role models<https://www.fabfems.org/> who are eager to expand girls' career options, dispel stereotypes, and spark their interests. Search the directory to find women in a broad range of STEM professions who are passionate, collaborative, and work to make the world a better place. FabFems are available to correspond with girls, speak to girl-serving STEM organizations, and serve as mentors.
    
  •    IF/THEN(r) Collection - NGCP worked with Lyda Hill Philanthropies to develop the IF/THEN Collection, which launched in July 2020. This digital asset library of Women STEM innovators<https://www.ifthencollection.org/> includes hundreds of videos, photos, activities, and more - all free for educational and other noncommercial use. The Collection continues to grow. Most recently, we've added new videos from the second season of Mission Unstoppable.
    

NEW NGCP WEBSITE PLANNING:  NGCP will be launching a new website in November 2021 and we'd love your input. Please join an online focus group to help us prioritize our goals and to provide feedback on the content and functionality of the current site.

NGCP COLLABORATIVE COMMUNITY SPRING MEETING:  April 26, 2021, 12:00 PM Pacific,  1:00 PM Mountain, 2:00 PM Central, 3:00 PM Eastern.  Please register in advance for this meeting: https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZYlcuqtqTIoEtQjmMM_kh3mC5BOfQ2UBo4d. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.  I'll send out an agenda a few weeks in advance of the meeting with a reminder.

New Research Brief: Evidence-based Strategies for Attracting and Retaining Girls and Women in STEM:  The NSF INCLUDEShttps://www.includesnetwork.org/home Coordination Hub, in partnership with the NGCP,  developed a new research brief on evidence-based strategies for attracting and retaining girls and women in STEM. The brief highlights the gender disparities along the educational pathways to career choice and also discusses evidence-based strategies that can address the barriers to girls' and women's participation in STEM.  Anyone can join the NSF INCLUDES National Network.  I've attached the brief to this email.  Please share with your networks.

GIRLS STEAM AHEAD WITH NASA (GSAWN):  We did a very small targeted outreach for applications from those who have not yet received stipends in past rounds; however we have not received many applications, so we are sending this to all of you. The Girls STEAM Ahead with NASA (GSAWN) stipend application will close at midnight Pacific time on March 1. If you are interested in applying for up to $400 to help utilize these resources in your program, please complete the applicationhttps://forms.gle/XWRKCdsB7TySjvC49 .  If you have recommendations for potential applicants but are concerned about the short timeframe, reach out to Marisa (email below).  Awardees will be notified by March 24, 2021.
